Located on top of a grand 1920s building, a short walk from Monument station, Wagtail’s rooftop (with retractable roof) offers views of the Shard, Tower Bridge, right down to Battersea Power Station and is suitable for 120 standing. Split over two floors, Wagtail includes a restaurant with two further private terraces and an exclusive private dinner room.
The Boundary Bar
There is something rather special about being sat under a giant sail looking across the City sipping fine cocktails and surrounded by wild flowers. The rooftop bar oozes style and offers fantastic views over London and there are heaters to keep you warm on a chilly night. It can be hired in part or in full – and at any time of year, thanks to an elegant glass orangery.
Treehouse Hotel
The boutique Treehouse Hotel, situated in the heart of Marylebone, has 95 rooms across six floors, all with big windows looking across London, plus an atmospheric rooftop Mexican restaurant, cocktail bar and roof terrace with some of the best views in town. The Prince
Set over three floors, The Prince is located in a former traditional English pub in West Brompton and can comfortably accommodate 800 people. Styled as a classic English garden, complete with floral walls, barrel tables and fairy light-strewn verandas, The Prince is lent a village feel thanks to its row of foodie pop-ups, including Salt Shed, East West Pizza and Temaki Bros.
The Ned
The rooftop of The Ned is know for its stunning views of the city skyline. Located on the former headquarters of the Midland Bank, the building has been converted into a hotel and members’ club. The decor is chic and sophisticated with plush seating and beautiful lighting. With two terraces available for hire and a stunning rooftop (with a heated pool), The Ned opens up new views of London’s rooftops to guests with The Shard, St Paul’s, London Eye and city skyline fading into the distance. The rooftop is only open to members but there is a domed bar for 40 guests which is perfect for those who want to capture that view for Instagram.
Sky Pod Bar at Sky Garden
Sky Pod Bar is an all-day drinking and dining rooftop space located in the heart of the city at the top of the iconic “Walkie Talkie” and offers unparalleled views among the impressive Gardens, providing the most unique private or corporate event setting. Designed to resemble a garden in the sky, the decor is green and leafy with a laid-back vibe. Sky Pod Rooftop Bar opens bright and early at 7am so you can enjoy breakfast and goes right through into the small hours with live music.
Seabird at The Hoxton
Positioned on the 14th floor of The Hoxton hotel in Southwark, this rootop restaurant boasts an al fresco terrace, marble tabletops, palm trees and panoramic views, with the Thames, the Houses of Parliament, St Paul’s and The Shard all in eyeline.
Sushi Samba Bar
Offering not just one but two outdoor terrace spaces Sushi Samba has a well-deserved reputation as a go to venue when you’re looking for unparalleled views of London – overlooking the City on one side and the Olympic park on the other. Located on the 38th and 39th floors of the Heron Tower, Sushi Samba delivers a unique blend of Japanese, Brazilian and Peruvian cuisine. Our favourite area is the Tree Bar which looks so pretty lit up as evening falls.
Ham Yard Roof Hotel
Up on the fourth floor of the beautifully designed Ham Yard Hotel in Soho sits a deluxe roof terrace. Not widely known about as it’s normally for in-house guests use only but it can also be hired for private events. During the summer you can enjoy the designs of Kit Kempt including water features and herbaceous borders along with fruit and vegetables from the kitchen garden. Don’t forget to try their cocktails which include a special selection incorporating honey made from the bee hives at the back of the garden.
Roof Top Bar at The Trafalgar
Recognised as one of the world’s best rooftop bars, Vista on the seventh floor of The Trafalgar sits adjacent to London’s most central point, Nelsons Column, providing panoramic views from Horse Guards Parade to the Royal Opera House. Perfect for small champagne receptions.
Grange St Pauls Hotel
Only available for hire you’re guaranteed exclusivity at The Sky Bar. This is a penthouse-level bar with rooftop terrace and conservatory overlooking St Paul’s Cathedral. The bar and conservatory area have a combined capacity of 200, making it a dazzling setting for summer events.
