New venues opening in 2024

There’s a glut of new venue openings in 2024, including many high-profile hotels with stand-out event spaces. Expect plenty of luxury options, but also look out for some carefully curated openings with a focus on sustainability & wellbeing. Here our round up of the best new venues opening in London 2024, and don’t forget we can help you with every aspect of event production at any of these venues too.

Six Senses London

Location: Residing in the former art deco department store Whiteleys, Bayswater (close to Hyde Park & Kensington Palace) and part of the regeneration programme for Queensway, this is the UK debut for the upmarket hotel and sustainable spa brand, Six Senses.

Design:  Working in collaboration with the esteemed British architectural firm Foster & Partners, the iconic art deco features have been preserved include retaining the original Grade II facade, central courtyard and the striking staircase has been remodelled inspired by Milan’s La Scala opera house and positioned as the focal point on the ground floor. Throughout the space, a thoughtfully curated collection of contemporary art by British artists adds a layer of cultural richness, enhancing the overall aesthetic.

Features: A social and wellness club in the style of an old fashioned London Underground station on the second floor featuring a central bar and lounge, co-working spaces, a restaurant and wellness and treatment rooms with a 20 meter indoor swimming pool with vaulted ceilings.

Rooms: 110 beautifully curated guest rooms and suites and 14 branded residences.

Event Spaces: Private dining rooms, cosy lobby bar and lounge, an all-day dining restaurant with an open kitchen and a seating area in the courtyard. Perfect for away days, incentive groups, creative meetings or treating clients craving re-balance and a shot of wellbeing.

The Emory

Location: Set in the heart of Belgravia, right next door to The Berkeley overlooking Hyde Park, with a discreet entrance on Old Barracks Yard. Due to open its doors in April 2024.

Design: Operated by the Marylebone Hotel Group, the company behind Claridges, The Connaught and The Berkeley, so low-key luxurious touches are guaranteed. The late Richard Rogers and Ivan Harbour are the team behind the modern architectural design and contemporary interiors, though each of its nine floors will additionally feature interiors by a different designer and come with floor to ceiling views.

Rooms: Each of the 60 rooms will be a suite, complete with a ‘spectacular’ penthouse designed by Rigby & Rigby so there’ll be a distinctly residential feel, targeting the most discerning of guests.

Event Spaces: A rooftop space exclusive to hotel guests with 360 degree views of London, an expansive wellness space with an underground 22-metre pool as well as a drinking venue called Bar 33. Suited for private dining, gala dinners and discreet meetings.

The Newman

Location:  Housed in artsy Newman Street Fitzrovia, a buzzy bohemian area where Bloomsbury’s culture meets Soho’s style. A short stroll takes you to the heart of Soho, Covent Garden and Leicester Square.

Design: This boutique hotel is the debut property from hotel management company Kinsfolk & Co and promises a sophisticated and elevated but fun experience, with a refined aesthetic marked by whimsical, eclectic touches. The design will take cues from historic local characters, including Fitzrovia’s bohemian queen, Nancy Cunard, who will be referenced subtly throughout the property, including nods to her signature bangles and polka dots, with the overall design defined by a contemporary art deco aesthetic.

Rooms: 81 rooms, suites and apartments. The rooftop floor offers a signature four bedroom suite with a private terrace and when booked as a whole provides exclusive use of the first floor.

Event Spaces: Two private event and dining rooms, a European brasserie seating 120 customers, a lower ground cocktail bar as well as a wellness space occupying one floor of the building that embraces Nordic simplicity in its minimalist design and includes a range of hot and cold experience cabins, an active salt therapy room and a hydrotherapy pool.

Mandarin Oriental ABar Rooftop

Location: Last year saw a flurry of openings in Mayfair. The pace has slowed down a bit in 2024 giving ABar, perched on top of the upcoming Mandarin Oriental Mayfair on prestigious Hanover Square, a chance to shine.

Design: All of the luxurious upmarket glitz and glamour you’d expect from the 5-star hotel. The rooftop will be overseen by Michelin-starred chef Akira Back and comes with unbeatable panoramic views over London’s glittering skyline from the terrace. Expect it to be in high demand this summer.

Event spaces: Along with the rooftop ‘Abar’ the hotel offers further exciting new dining experience with a stunning triple-height dining room that will be adjoined by three separate private rooms available for hire. The hotel itself offers 50 chic rooms and suites.

Art’otel London Hoxton

Location: Bustling Hoxton gets another shake-up with the arrival of Art’otel London Hoxton, hot on the success of its Battersea Power Station opened in 2023.

Design: Bold and daring, it champions the importance of art and design in hospitality. On the lower ground floor, there’s a dedicated Art Gallery, hosting a calendar of multimedia exhibitions and cultural events. You can also hire this space for your next drinks reception or private function too.

Rooms: 357 guest bedrooms and suites, flexible event spaces including a 60-seat auditorium, 12 event spaces, destination bars and restaurants (with skyline views), an indoor swimming pool and spa and a spectacular skyline gym. Look out for the 10 Creative Rooms on the 24th floor that can be hired individually, as a combination or opened out completely to offer full flexibility for up to 300 guests.

Albert Schloss

Location: Operated by the award-winning Mission Mars, who after the success of their ventures in Manchester and Liverpool, will be bringing the wünder of the Schloss to London as part of the big revamp that’s happening to The Trocadero, taking over what used to be the Rainforest Cafe on Shaftesbury Avenue, more recently home to Jungle Cave.

Design: A Bavarian beer hall as well as an Alpine-inspired chalet called Ludwig’s Tavern that‘s an Alpine oasis of indulgence and pleasure and home to “roaring fires, shuffleboard and other tavern games.” Alongside the games (and cabaret), there will be fondue, schnitzel, bratwurst and quite a lot of beer too.

Event spaces: The new spot in the heart of Leicester Square is the groups biggest space to date with 18000 square feet of space that they plan to fill with 500 covers for dining, four bars for drinking, a stage for some raucous performances, and a bakery for some delicious Bavarian treats. This all-in-one concept means you can spend the entire night in one place so expect Christmas bookings to be popular.
