How to choose the perfect Diwali meal by Preeti Catering:

Diwali is a very busy day with food orders going out to many parties hosted by those wanting to enjoy the festivities with their friends and family rather than spend the day in the kitchen.  Here are some of our favourite ideas on how to host a perfect Diwali dinner. Enjoy and Happy Diwali to all!

Starting the party off with a delicious mocktail to greet your guests always helps get everyone in the mood. Our freshly made strawberry daiquiris are so refreshing which makes them the perfect accompaniment to our food.

It’s mandatory to hand out snacks to family & friends attending a Diwali party so why not go with our little triangular filled filo treats, better known as mini vegetable samosas. Served with a fresh coriander, mint and yogurt chutney. Another favourite of ours is Chef’s Aloo Tikki & Channa Masala, it’s honestly a match made in heaven!

The ‘main’ event! The main meal – oh and how we love feasting on a wonderful selection of vegetarian curries. The top three selected in our in-house poll were; Aloo Bengan, Bhindi Masala and Daal Makhni. These three to die for dishes served alongside freshly fried puri’s and a cucumber raita has us all singing and dancing the night away.

After all that hot food, you need something to calm the amazing flavours rolling around your taste buds. And what better way than indulging in our scrumptious and decadent Rasomalai, yum, yum, yum!!! After all, the sweetest part of Diwali is spoiling everyone with traditional Indian confectionery.
