London’s range of venues, hotels, restaurants and delegate attractions is growing all the time. From iconic cultural haunts to contemporary spaces, there’s always something new to discover in the capital and there are plenty of new venues in 2017 to inspire you.
We’ve had a look at some of the best new large and small venues for 2017 and here’s some of the highlights due to open this year. If you want to get ahead of the crowds and be one of the first to use one of the newest venues in 2017 then get in touch with our team who will be happy to help.
Make your event extraordinary in a new venue for 2017.
The Postal Museum
For more than 75 years, this venue has been hidden from view, lying 70ft beneath the streets of London. Due to open mid-2017 the Postal Museum and Mail Rail promises to offer some truly extraordinary venue spaces. Take a trip on the specially-made passenger trains underneath the streets of London for a unique experience. The tunnels are highly adaptable (they were recently converted into a tennis court for Andy Murray’s secret pre-Wimbledon warm up) and are perfect for private parties, PR Days and experiential events. Not a fan of being underground? Then try the contemporary museum space with its sunny courtyard.
Lalit London Hotel
Housed in a Grade II listed Victorian building near Tower Bridge The Lalit London, a new luxury boutique hotel, will feature 70 beautifully designed rooms, each ornamented with bespoke Indian art. The hotel will house 70 rooms, all different in style and layout plus there’s an Indian restaurant named Baluchi alongside a cocktail bar in what was once the governors’ room and an outdoor terrace space.
Famed chef Nobu Matsuhisa extends his east meets west approach as he opens a new hotel in Shoreditch. The quality of the catering goes without saying but also expect beautiful interiors along with terrace spaces. Another summer contender.
Street Feast Canary Wharf
The team behind Hawker House and Dinerama are bringing their street food market to a new destination at Canary Wharf, where they will create a new street food market filled with London’s favourite vendors.
Over the past two years, Street Feast has transformed warehouses, carparks and office blocks into must-see destinations. Beautifully designed and lit, each space is like a miniature town of independent street food traders. With a great crowd, brilliant bars and music festival vibes, Street Feast offers some of the best food available anywhere in the world.
Private hire at Canary Wharf will be available for a range of spaces and will be one of the larger new venue spaces to arrive on the scene this year. This would make an amazing space for Christmas parties and has the capacity to be one of London’s larger venues.
A brand new central London venue 58VE offers stylish and creative blank canvas spaces, perfect for a variety of events. This contemporary space can be used as one space for larger events or partitioned into different areas to suit your occasion’s requirements. The highlight is an exclusive lounge and terrace on the sixth floor with views overlooking the River Thames and London’s skyline, making it a perfect space for summer parties.
Ten Trinity Square
Opening this month, Grade II listed Four Seasons Ten Trinity Square will provide us with the first opportunity for over 20 years to explore this grand building. The hotel will feature a beautiful cylindrical lobby area which references the buildings maritime heritage (originally it was the headquarters of the Port of London Authority). For wow factor, try the UN Ballroom for the most impressive meeting point.
The Curtain Hotel
A new private members club due to open in Shoreditch, backed by the man behind two of New York’s most fashionable hotels and aiming to rival Soho House in style. The Curtain Hotel will feature 120 guest rooms, including six suites, a rooftop swimming pool and more than 6,000 square feet of meeting and event space including ballroom and screening room. The members club will also include the Red Rooster restaurant, celebrating the roots of American cuisine with true southern soul food.
Queens Ice and Bowl
Whilst there’s nothing new about Queens Ice and Bowl, the refurbishment of last year has brought a fresh touch to this venue and put it back on the events map. Built in 1932, Queens remains the only permanent ice rink in central London and was the first venue used by the BBC for televised skating. In addition to an all new Ten Pin Bowling lounge, Jimmy Garcia – crowned London’s ‘pop-up king’ by the Sunday Times – is now involved and brings his bold flavours to the diner. A great venue for team building events but also available for bigger events when the ice rink is covered over.
Rooftop bars are prime venue space in London and the opening of a new destination is always welcome. Perched on top of the Montcalm Hotel in Finsbury Square, The Aviary will have the most enviable views across the city. The rooftop features an impressive central bar and demand is expected to be high over the summer season.
A new lifestyle hotel with a distinct personality. Alongside the 252 bedrooms, nine bars & restaurants, the hotel will offer six private hire rooms and two terraces which can hold up to 200 guests, all of which benefit from natural light. The venue includes a variety of grand, historic spaces such as The Saloon which is dominated by an 18th Century chandelier and another room where all four of the walls are covered by a tapestry dating back to the 1920s.
Accommodating meetings and conferences from 10 guests through to 200 theatre style, The Ned’s location in the heart of The City of London makes it a perfect venue for your conference or exhibition.
