After a Christmas season of parties and prosecco fuelled indulgence, lots of us start of January with good intentions of cutting back on alcohol or even going ‘dry’ completely.  Whilst avoiding booze during the week isn’t too difficult, it can’t be a real struggle at the weekend and even harder if you’re at a party.

So if you’re hosting an event this month give some thought to your guests and make things a bit easier for them by asking your caterers to provide some stylish non-alcoholic concoctions to help all your guests survive dry January.

We’ve teamed up with leading mixologists, Mr Flavour, and asked them to come up with three fun and tasty mocktails to help everyone stick to their resolutions and give our poor livers a break.

Drink differently with our healthy dry January alternatives

Cranberry and Ginger Smoothie

One of the best heath boost smoothies around, packed with anti-oxidants, superfoods, and anti-inflammatory properties it is the perfect dry Jan drink to start with.

Simply throw everything into a good high speed blender and keep going until smooth and creamy.

A cinnamon stick and orange zest works perfectly as a garnish.

  •  Handful of fresh cranberries.
  • ½ an Orange.
  • 1 Banana.
  • Handful of ice.
  • 4 tbsp honey.
  • Dash of vanilla extract.
  • ½ a knob of fresh ginger.
  • Dash of cinnamon.
  • Touch of coconut milk to taste.

Blackberry Super Fruit Milkshake

Leave Christmas behind and get moving through January with this guilt free milkshake, again high in anti-oxidants and vitamins with half the fat of a regular milkshake.

Simply throw everything into a good high speed blender and blend until the milkshake texture is achieved.

This works great with a blackberry garnish or whipped cream if feeling indulgent.

  • Handful of fresh ripe blackberries.
  • Goji Berries.
  • Touch of a squeeze of lime.
  • Handful of ice.
  • 150ml Unsweetened almond milk.
  • Drizzle of honey to taste.
  • Fat free vanilla ice cream.

The Winter Garden Juice

This is simply the best for the post Christmas blues. A healthy option which will have you feeling refreshed, slim and full of the goodness you require after December.

Simply place all the ingredients into a high-powered blender and blend until smooth in texture, if you have a juicer even better.

This looks amazing with a zest of lemon peel, a sprig of rocket and a stick of celery.

  • One whole Beetroot, fresh cooked and peeled.
  • 1 whole carrot.
  • Half a lemon.
  • Drizzle honey.
  • 150ml Pressed apple juice.
  • Handful of rocket.
  • Touch of pepper.
  • Squeeze of fresh orange.
  • Stick of fresh celery.
