Over the heat of the summer we helped our client go Mad In The Country, celebrating a 50th birthday party with close friends in an interactive all weekend luxury event. As R. Kelly said “It’s the freakin’ weekend baby, I’m about to have me some fun.”

The landscaped gardens and grounds provided an oasis of calm, whilst the tennis court saw some surprisingly competitive matches. The interiors are beautifully designed by Sophie Conran and in terms of styling all we really needed to do was fill the house with flowers featuring a stunning display Orchids, the birthday girl’s favourite flower (though we couldn’t resist adding a few more touches such as a Karaoke corner complete with disco ball!).
These days when everyone is so busy with work and families there is something very decadent about an adult only party over a long weekend and our guests loved spending time together either relaxing in the hot tub or enjoying the house including having some retro fun with pinball and space invader games.
Over the three days we provided plenty of activities to get guests involved, though it’s fair to say that our cocktail making masterclass was probably the one approached with the most enthusiasm!

Set in beautiful woodland, this was a stunning location for our guests to learn how to clay shoot. On the final score the girls beat the boys. Go the girls!
Whilst alcohol and education isn’t a classic combination, a gin tasting class is a great way to mix learning with pleasure and our guests were delighted to have their taste buds tantalised at Brennen and Brown where we helped them learn various gin distillation techniques. After a comprehensive tasting session, where a range of garnishes were explored, we took everyone home for a well-deserved rest and provided masseuse therapists for a little bit of relaxation heaven.
Dinner was served in the barn where our caterers cooked up a stunning meal featuring char-grilled fillet beef on rocket with artichokes and parmesan with a reduced balsamic dressing. Guests weren’t able to completely sit back though as the evening took an unexpected turn and their sleuthing skills were put to the test to try to solve a murder “in a Thymely Manor” as they became detectives for the evening as part of a murder mystery plot.

The venue and location were gorgeous and we loved the village with its Shop & Tearoom filled with artisan-baked goods. We were delighted that our clients had such a wonderful birthday weekend and that we were able to help them relax by managing all the planning for them and providing solutions to all their queries including how much booze shall we get? (a lot!).
