The Spanish court of the 17th Century is the setting for brand new Giffords Circus show, Any Port in a Storm, as the vintage circus makes a welcome return to Chiswick House.
Known for their idiosyncratic shows and English eccentricity, this big top extravaganza appeals to adults as much as kids, with humour on different levels – from the slapstick of Tweedy the clown to the gasp-worthy acrobatics. Promising a “thrilling, candle-lit, international gymnastic show with dancing horses, a live band” and Tweedy – “a legend in English circus” (Guardian) – this is a charming circus show unlike any other.
Giffords also has a unique 60-seat travelling restaurant called Circus Sauce that’s part of the circus on tour. Starlit suppers with the artistes can be booked here. It’s a delicious three-course meal made with the very best fresh, seasonal and local ingredients and has a wonderful atmosphere.
