Our clients are always asking us to help ensure their events are fresh and exciting. One way to do this is by incorporating the latest flower trends. We spoke to some of our talented florists that we love to work and asked them to predict the key floral trends for 2018 and beyond.

Variations on purple: we predicted that 2018 is going to be passionate for purple before Pantone released their highly influential colour of the year (ultra violet). Darker flowers with deeper colours such as Anemones and Hydrangeas bring texture, depth and drama.
Voluptuousness: chunky, juicier flowers will bring voluptuousness to arrangements based around a single colour range (purple!). Nothing too neat; flowers will still be full of depth and movement.
Vases are going to be big: literally and figuratively. Elegant, striking and classic vases will be very much part of our designs; and larger, unique vases allow the displays to really stand out.
It seems that there is going to be an emphasis on ‘abundance’ with lots of luxurious blooms such as garden roses, orchids and of course the much loved peonies. Surrounding guests with flowers with hanging installations, using clear glass, perspex and mirrors to highlight colours.
Predictions say that couples will concentrate budgets on statement pieces. The beloved flower walls will morph into ceilings, floors and other structural installations. Head tables will be filled with flowers tumbling off the end to the floor…
The Pantone colour of the year, Ultra Violet, is described as “dramatically provocative and thoughtful”. Rich purples paired with crisp whites highlight the colour fantastically and it also works so well with silvers and golds adding a regal element to designs. Soft greys, creams and pale pinks tone down the intensity offering a more romantic colour palette.
Pastel colours will stay, they are the epitome of romance, but couples will be more daring with their choices and add POPS of colour to their bouquets, stationary, tablescapes and fashion.

Recent and upcoming events that we’ve been working on have seen a change from traditional styles and instead the latest trends are pointing in a direction where people will want to merge a few different styles and this inevitably produces a whole other scale of ideas to be explored. This is so exciting as the diversity of style and design within an event is inspirational and we love to develop new ideas to feed hungry eyes.

It’s always tricky to talk about trends when every event reflects a client’s uniquely personal style and taste, but we do see general preferences lean in different directions over time. This year, we’re already seeing a new trend emerging – natural and organic, as we saw last year, but with a modern design twist added. Think Secret Garden meets Blade Runner!
