We all know that a good event manager has to plan ahead, especially as many events can have a lead time of around a year.
Here, we take a peek at some of the wider trends that you’ll see in 2017 in restaurants and general design and take a look at how these creative ideas might come into play at an event you’re organising for 2017 so you can provide the most ideal guest experience possible.

It is after all, rather hard to refuse a drink that’s right in front of you.We predict this personalised service will fit right in with the move away from formal event setups as the drinks trolley is able to circulate around the room which encourages guests to mingle. A cocktail cart is a great way to get guests engaged as they have a chance to ask questions from the bartender and maybe finally get the opportunity to discover what that ingredient is that they never really knew about. Anyone admitting to really knowing what Chartreuse is?! Watching a mixologist in action is an entertainment in itself and a bar on wheels means the action can come straight to you.

As the rise of healthy eating continues we’re starting to see a growth in popularity for Buddha bowls: a warming bowl of goodness that tastes amazing and feels as though it is nourishing and doing you good. A Buddha bowl should be filled with four delicious kinds of food – whole grains, lean protein, vegetables and nuts/seeds, all of which is topped off with a dressing. The possibilities are endless and their flexibility means they are perfect for feeding vegans, veggies or meat eaters. You’ll have seen them on your Instagram feed and we predict you’ll be seeing them at your events next year too.

At Evolve we love bringing the outdoors indoors and one of our highlights has been covering the floors of our venue Kent House Knightsbridge with real grass, which smelt amazing. In 2017 we predict this trend to continue with the humble house plants having its status elevated to a must have styling prop. Large plants such as Fiddle Leaf Fig are a great way to add a sculptural element and a wow factor to a room or you could try something like String Of Pearls which with its long tendrils of trailing foliage is great for adding softness to a space.

Look around you and you’ll see our feathery friends popping up on everything from clothes to wallpaper and we’re now seeing them as a key trend for summer. We say, embrace the pink and incorporate it into your events; perfect for outdoor events this summer. Go bright and bold for a tropical look. Just remember flamingos are able to stand on one leg for a long period of time so no getting tipsy and wobbling over.

A new trend set to grow in 2017 questions why kids should have all the fun.
Adult only summer camps were initially a US only trend but now we starting to see them here too and they’re a great way to rekindle your childhood.
