Late Christmas Party at Grace Hall in February
Who says you must celebrate Christmas in December? Our client wanted to create a celebration that gave their staff something to look forward to in the New Year, when they wouldn’t be exhausted from all the other demands on their time. We love working on events that are different from the norm and were delighted to create a Christmas party that’s a bit different from the rest.
Having helped the client chose the beautiful Grace Hall in the City as the party venue we were asked as part of our event planning services to transform the venue’s elegant spaces into a stunning winter wonderland.
However as the party was held in late February we wanted to acknowledge the time of year so introduced a design twist, highlighting the changes of season from dark winter into the warmth and optimism of spring. Grace Hall is an intimate venue with a cosy feel but also features plenty of light and white spaces so it was perfect for helping us create a transitional theme.
Upon arrival we created a fabulous pathway from the venue reception desk to the entrance doors of the Main Hall. White birch twigs intermixed with silver ferns were lined with a base of frosted pine to give a hint of the theming ahead. Glass cylinder vases in varying heights filled with fairy lights were dotted around the base adding twinkle of light to the scene.
Creative use of immersive, moving lighting throughout the Main Hall was used to showcase the right light aesthetic from the call-to-dinner, then onto speeches and finally when the party kicked into gear. Transitioning between shades of blue to represent winter, then to warmer yellow tones, to display the change to optimistic spring, lighting was key to achieving the party ambience and overall tone of the event.
The guests enjoyed an evening of feasting and dancing with our specially sourced evening entertainment, with a four-piece live band who performed against our sumptuous seasonal backdrop and stunning light projections, which later followed with our late night DJ to see the evening off in style in the right party atmosphere.
